About Lisa Mason ‘REBA’

01-10726235_10202663052246325_162942249_n-169x300-02I was diagnosed with breast cancer and the past year has been filled with tears joy sorrow and finding inner strength.  The battle is hard and I am facing many challenges ahead but one woman has shown me that you can live.  That is my mom who has battled this illness for 17 years.  She showed me that life is worth living and fighting.

My friends call me Reba because I look like her and I laugh and act silly all the time.  I sound like her and I take that with a smile on my face because I’m proud.  I’m southern and Texas proud.  But I will face this illness with laughter and goofiness and battle my way to being a true survivor like my mom and Reba’s song because we’re all survivors.

I have been through a lot but I try to live my life to the fullest every day.  Life has had its ups and downs for the past years. The journey has been long and tough.  I won’t lie but every day I wake up is a blessing.  I have good days and bad ones.  The good ones I treasure, and the bad ones I try to fight them. I look forward to the day when I can say I am cured, but until then I will find my inner Lisa and move forward.
